Urine Clinical Substance Abuse Panels (CSAPs) are a convenient way for physicians to order a panel containing the most frequently abused drugs. CSAP panels typically include both illicit drugs and prescribed medications. Drug screen tests are performed by enzyme immunoassay (EIA), with gas chromatograph/ mass spectrometry (GC/MS) confirmation testing performed on request. These tests are performed on a Monday through Friday basis and are not available as a STAT request.
As non-forensic panels, CSAP tests are appropriate for the clinical treatment of patients, but they do not meet the State of Hawaii requirements for either workplace or court ordered drug tests. For company/employer drug tests or court ordered forensic tests click here.
810M drug screen panels can be ordered as STAT requests and include screening tests for both illicit and prescription drugs.
Final results for all clinical drug tests are reported as a screen result. Confirmation testing is not performed unless specifically requested in writing.
